When I started dismantling my own disordered eating behaviors and healing my relationship with food one of the absolute best pieces of advice I got was to clean up my social media. I followed soooo many people/groups/organizations that were pushing straight up diet culture - “lose 10 pounds in 10 days”, “it’s not a diet it’s a lifestyle!”, “do this cardio routine to burn a thousand calories!”. It was everywhere. I unfollowed any social media account that played on my emotions, or made me feel like I wasn’t good enough because I was living in a larger body. I then had to start re-cultivating my feed again. Over the years, I’ve found some amazing like minded dietitians that have a passion for dismantling diet culture and helping people find their healthy.
